New IIBA® Certification: CCBA™International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) has launched a new certification, Certification of Competency in Business Analysis™ (CCBA™). It is designed as a stepping stone to obtaining the Certified Business Analysis Professional™(CBAP®) designation and provides recognition for individuals who have business analysis experience but don't yet meet the requirements for the CBAP® designation. The CCBA™ application is targeted to launch by year end and the exam is targeted to launch early in 2011. The difference between the CCBA™ and CBAP® requirements are in the total hours of business analysis work experience and the distribution of hours among the six Knowledge Areas, as defined in the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge™ (BABOK®). During the July 26thIIBA webinar, IIBA announced that until the CCBA™ application is launched later this year, anyone who submits an application to sit for the CBAP® exam and whose application is declined due to not meeting either the total hours of work experience and/or the knowledge area requirements to sit for the CBAP® exam, will be offered an opportunity to apply to sit for the CCBA™ exam at no cost. That’s a savings of $125 USD. If you have been sitting on the fence about applying for the CBAP® exam because you’re not sure if you meet the work experience and/or knowledge area requirements, it may benefit you to go ahead and apply now, before the launch of the CCBA™ application. You can replay this webinar through the Public Webinar Archive on theiiba.org web site under Professional Development. Alternatively, IIBA is planning to host more live webinars on the CCBA™ designation so you may wish to register for one.
