Professional Development - Facilitator / Moderator (Multiple Positions)The following two (2) streams or programs under the Professional Development portfolio need a pool of facilitators/moderators. You can choose to be a facilitator/moderator for a one-time event or ongoing for several events. For the BABOK® Study Group program, facilitators will be expected to facilitate for the duration of the session. - BABOK® Study Group program

BABOK® Study Group Program Facilitator / Moderator The faciliator/moderator will: - Facilitate each meeting of the study group for the duration of the session (typically, study groups meet weekly for 2 hours over the course of a 3 month period).
- Be provided with resources for your study group: a sample syllabus and artifacts from past study groups such as practice exam questions, ideas for interactive exercises, etc.
- Set the schedule for the group and take attendance for each meeting (this is needed because professional development hours are earned by study group participants and may be claimed on the CBAP® or CCBA™ exam applications for those pursuing certification).
- Learn the webinar platform in advance of the start of the study group.
- Suggest opportunities for improvement (OFI).
- Escalate any issues to the VP Professional Development.
- Communicate any special needs of any of the participants and assist the VP Professional Development with meeting those needs.
- Collect all artifacts produced by the study group such as practice exam questions, documents produced as part of a group exercise, etc.
- Conduct and document a Lessons Learned session with the group and provide to the VP Professional Development.
- Ensure that a portion of each group meeting is interactive in order to maintain eligibility for professional development hours.
- Provide a list of study group participants and their email addresses to the VP Member Services in order to identify study group participants who need to pay a participation fee (study groups are free to Chapter members and cost $20 for non-members). You will not be responsible for collecting fees. The VP Member Services will contact the individuals identified as non-members and will make arrangements to collect the fee.
Round Table and Panel Discussions Facilitator / Moderator Ongoing - Assist with the design of the event/program, including assisting with sourcing SMEs and speakers for the Panel Discussions stream and with sourcing other Moderators/Facilitators.
- Suggest opportunities for improvement (OFI), lessons learned.
- Write announcements about upcoming events for the web site and newsletter (optional).
- Escalate any issues to the VP Professional Development.
- Communicate any special needs of any of the participants and speakers and assist the VP Professional Development with meeting those needs
At the Event
- Introduce the topic and the participants/speakers.
- Announce the ground rules and expected outcomes.
- Moderate the event to ensure that all participants are heard.
- Perform advance preparation/research on the topic in order to help ensure there is coverage of all sides of a topic and to keep the discussion going.
- Collect any artifacts produced and provide to VP Professional Development for retention and/or posting.
